Now Hiring - Certified Medication Aide (CMA) - (Westwood), (NJ)

 

(Harmony Village at CareOne at Valley)

 

The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  1. Provide medication administration to residents under direction of RN.
  2. Provide patients' personal hygiene by giving bedpans, urinals, baths, back rubs, shampoos, and shaves; assisting with travel to the bathroom; helping with showers and baths.
  3. Provide for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary; ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
  4. Provide adjunct care by administering enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, sits and therapeutic baths; applying restraints.
  5. Maintain patient stability by checking vital signs and weight; testing urine; recording intake and output information.
  6. Provide patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients' call lights and requests; reporting observations of the patient to nursing supervisor.
  7. Document actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
  8. Maintain work operations by following policies and procedures.
  9. Serve and protects the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and JCHAO standards.
  10. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations; maintaining licensure.
  11. Enhance nursing department and hospital reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • Proper licensing in state of the job.
  • Must be experienced in administering oral, topical, optic, ophthalmic medications and subcutaneous injections.
  • Previous CMA experience, and must also be a Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • Multi-tasker, able to proceed in a courteous and professional manner.
